Fun product to experiment with

My first attempts at using this involved pieces of jelly that I had a hard time popping out of the mold and ended up falling apart. I was told I would need to drizzle some oil in the molds and add more gelatin so I'll try that next time I try. Mold. In the photos you can see three candies I made from organic Torie & Howard candies. Then I made some with Jolly Ranchers for these gorgeous flowers. Very funny!

Not suitable for synthetic resin.

I have read reviews that they are great for making epoxy shot glasses. I specifically used Art Resin as it is food safe and cures much slower than countertop epoxy, making it more flexible to work with silicone molds. They seemed to work fine the first time, but the second time around the silicone cracked and stuck to almost every mount making them impossible to use/sell. I know they are advertised as food but silicone should not be mixed with epoxy. I have never had this problem with any other

No instructions. No Prescription

The product came with no instructions or prescription. My first attempt was to fill it with classic cookie dough. The "glasses" were made from many small, delicious pieces. While silicone rubber is not sticky, it has high friction. My second attempt used the classic recipe, but.-) I drizzled the pan with floured cooking spray.-) I doubled the number of eggs.-) I used mini chocolate chips, not regular ones. The fewer the better.-) I used 3/4 of the fries needed.-) While the recipe was supposed…

good for caramel shots

good for candy shots. I mainly made Jolly Rancher shots but also used some Werthers coffee and fudge for a few. For Werthers, I used caramel for the base and sprinkled coffee on top for the rim. They turned out very beautiful. There weren't many shotgun-style recipes, but I watched a few videos on You Tube and other online sources that had good information. The first time I made the mistake of placing the pan on an air baking sheet, it took at least twice as long or longer for the candy in the…

Food Grade*** I've used resin with great results

I bought these to make shot glasses with resin, they work great, easy to detach and easy to clean after pour up. Haven't tried them with food but I've tried them in ice form as it says you can make them with ice and use them as shot glasses and I can say it doesn't work, I've frozen them for 2 days and then tried to use two shots, one after the first had holes in it and couldn't drink it, then a second to confirm what happened to the first and it also had holes in the ice and couldn't hold…

They work as advertised

I saw footage of Jolly Rancher at a cooking show and wanted some for New Year's Eve. I bought two and for the batch I made I had to experiment. I looked at the happy ranchers and added as they melted. This seems like the best way to go if you don't want to break the candy into smaller pieces. Set your oven to 350 and they will melt and fill in the gaps. Add a few more if needed. Air bubbles rise. Shake lightly if necessary. I put them on a baking sheet just in case. They will be very hot and…

Take great shots!

I bought this mold to make shot glasses for candy (I used Jolly Ranchers). It goes very well with it.and chocolate.and jelly.and gummy bears. It is very funny. I would definitely make the first batch before relying on it for guests of the first run. The instructions on the box don't specifically say you can put these molds in the oven (although the Amazon description says so), but I had no trouble putting them in the oven at all. For my caramel shots, I simply preheated the oven to 350 degrees,
