This shelf fits the space perfectly but I don't understand how the two shelves I received could pass quality control. On the first one shelf looks like a large chunk has been burned, gouged or otherwise destroyed and replaced with other wood, with patches of wood putty not even smoothed over. Long dark black bands are visible around the damaged area. The top shelf and one side panel had blue markings around the edges. Other than that it's a nice desk bookcase

I bought this to store DVDs (in their original cases). But with the open sides the problem. DVD cases are so small that they simply fall through. I put a book at each end of each shelf and that holds the DVDs. I've still managed to fit over 90 DVDs on the bookshelf (even using the top flat shelf). I need to buy some wood, cut it to size and nail it on the sides to cover the ends. Once I put it in, I can put at least eight more DVDs on the shelves. If I also cover the back I can get another 20…

Easy to assemble but not so easy to use

This shelf is very easy to assemble. 10 minutes and done. I bought this shelf because it is really unique. I wanted a sloping shelf as I thought it would be easy for children to see the books. As you can see in this picture, the shelf is not actually a solid back, but 2 bars with a piece of wood on top.
