It's not metal, I think it might be some kind of vinyl. So I think it would be possible to pull so hard that it would stretch when installed. However, I didn't have the problem. I've tested this roulette on several roulettes I own, as well as another winning roulette that I know works with my roulette matches. In my photos the top band is another winning band that goes with my roulettes and ruler and the bottom band is the product I am reviewing.
