great tool in gauges

I bought this tool after buying and using 6" Wixey WR100 digital fractional calipers. Both gauges seem to use the same gauge and indicator and are for their well designed and built for specific applications. The display is fairly large and the numbers are fairly easy to read in most cases. I wish they had a backlit display for a better view, but they are just as good. The necessary battery is included , and it's fairly easy and straightforward to install. Both units are as accurate as anything…

One of the many Wixey products I own. love them all

I have several Wixey "measuring devices". I used to buy a digital height gauge from another manufacturer because it was $20 cheaper. I hate it since I started using the Wixey standard for my other gauges. I ended up replacing the caliper with a Wixey and it's far superior to other brands. I like the fraction display feature (in addition to the decimals), it's a much smoother slide/adjust mechanism, and despite the higher price point, it's a better buy. Flat base for attaching to a blade or racquet is easier to use than a dial indicator (which I also have and which I like for other purposes) to accurately set the depth of groove cuts or the height (or depth) of the cut must be made with a router.
