It was exactly as described. I set it to

Exactly as described. I installed this on a 12,000 lb dockside cargo winch. I had to cut the end that attaches to the drum to work with my winch and then cut a few strands to fit through the holder hole. Also, I ordered a 100 inch spool and it was too big to fit my spool. I have to cut off about 12 feet so they don't get in the way of my control box that attaches to the winch.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Uncertain

Not what advertised, clicks easily

I bought a new winch that came with an 18,000 lb metal cable. I saw this 23,800 pound synthetic rope. I had to pull something around 12,000 pounds and this product broke immediately and pulled about half of what it was advertised to do. I put the metal cable back on the winch and, with little effort, began pulling the item. This synthetic rope binds and gets stuck easily and is extremely dangerous as its strength is far from what it claims to be in my experience and opinion.

How to lose 70 pounds in 15 minutes

Replaced over 75 pounds of 100 foot steel cable with 100 foot 3/8 cable on my Warn M8000 winch and also used an aluminum X- Bull-Hawse. As you can see from the picture, it fits with plenty of space. The first 6-7 turns I wound under hand tension, the rest under the weight of the jeep idling on a slight incline. I'll remove the hook and replace it with a thimble (done now). As I live in the south west with strong sun I will cover the winch/rope with a cheap Amazon cover. Overall I'm happy with…

Remember that the rope has only one eyelet.

The other end of the rope is not visible in the photo. I mistakenly assumed there were eyes on both ends. Not right! There is only a small crimped winch hole on the end, NOT SHOWN in the photos. This rope may only be used when bolted to the winch drum. You CANNOT use it alone as a lifeline. No, you can't attach a hook to an end with a small bolt hole. This is too little. You need to install and crimp an extra eyelet or hook. The solution to the hack is to tie the end to a hook with the eye…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Damaged

I use this in a marine environment (I know it's not what it was advertised for) and it floats, is durable and highly visible. The only problem I found is that the orange color of the rope literally rubs off in your hand when you hold the rope. The dye is added to the thread, not baked, obviously because your hands (and gear) will have traces of orange on anything the rope touches when it gets wet. Otherwise the rope (and the hook, which I didn't use) seem VERY well built. Note that if you plan…

Include instructions on how to load the winch?

At first I thought 100 feet of 3/8" Dyneema would not fit on my winch after winding it TWICE. I even did it pretty hard. But then I went on the internet and looked for information on how to properly wind the winch. I made it on the third try and it looks great. (The gray line photo - attached - shows after my second attempt.) Two remarks need to be made here; 1. Provide a variety of colors of winch cable for your new winches; and 2. Include instructions on how to properly install the winch…

Good value for money! Best in Towing and Winching

I had 15 year old synthetic cable on my winch and decided it was time to replace it. This seemed like a good choice. I don't use a hook, so the fact that it came with a plain hook didn't matter. XD9000i no problem. (I wrapped it under tension, not freehand.) I was a little disappointed with the eyelet loop, which uses a cheaper metal thimble than some, but I use a 5/8" shackle with it, so that's it for me. the rope protection on the hook is good I'm not sure what the actual purpose of the…
