. for years because they are so well made and easy to use

I have been using Xacto knives for years because they are so well made and easy to use. I particularly like this one because the protective caps stick to it so well. This one is also very easy to use.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • Damaged

Great hobby knife, best hand tool

I lost my X-acto and ordered a new one. Third-party shipping was a bit slow, but I didn't need it urgently. It came in the mail and exactly as described on Revain. It's a great tool and I use it daily for hobby and computer work. Really worth having on your table!

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Knife X-acto in power tools

Decent inexpensive knife. It's a good knife if you're just starting out in modeling, but over time you'll need a better knife. This is just a super basic no frills craft knife. The only complaint I have is that the screw on the head that holds the blade loosens quite a bit and that can be an issue if you're doing delicate, tedious work with it. Three stars for the low price and good quality, minus two for not holding the blade.

  • Waiting

Now it's a knife!

This is a small, very sharp knife - if you know what an Xacto knife is, you know what it can do! I use this to prune my African violets for planting new plants - it's small enough to get into the plan without damaging the leaves and for a quick, painless stem cut close to the stem - they have them too many other uses and there are many ways to cook them Shrimp! Highly recommended in any kitchen bin, but please keep away from children!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not as sharp as hoped

I've been using Exacto knives for over 20 years so I know how to use them. They are suitable for cutting paper, even thick, matte material. However, they are not sharp enough for softer materials such as fabric or leather. They are better for straight cuts or large curves, but not as good for very complex cuts. You have to cut against a hard impact, you can't cut material free hand. I could switch to using disposable scalpels. They are much cheaper and more flexible in my opinion. Of course you

A unique tool for many projects and needs

I've had X-acto knives my whole life. I use them for MORE than just a hobby. I make furniture to order. First of all, computer desks and audio-video centers. Custom designed for receivers to YOUR specifications and YOUR equipment needs. The X-acto knife comes into play during construction, during the finishing process (polyester coating and finish paints) and when applying power to ensure there are enough outlets for all your devices. I find these significantly more comfortable than a single…

Razor holster/handle

The handle with the blade is great. However, what I need the blades for didn't work for me. I use blades to etch patterns on colored eggs. My fingers hold the pen as if you were holding a pencil. The blade is sharp to the hilt, so I can't hold the blade the way I want without cutting myself. The blade is, yes, very sharp and can cut simple jobs. If you want to cut something where your hand can be on the handle, then a blade is perfect. But I would have to wrap tape around and around the blade…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
