Where Can You Use the YAMAHA YAS-109 Sound Bar?
Here are some places where the YAMAHA YAS-109 Sound Bar can be used:
Easy setup with HDMI or Optical connections. Built in subwoofers for deep bass in 1 slim sound bar. Clear voice for enhanced dialogue clarity. Output power: 120W. Alexa built in for voice control of your sound bar, playing music, listening to news, setting alarms and timers, asking questions, controlling smart home devices, and more. With Alexa, playing music is as simple as asking for a song, artist, or genre from Amazon music and more. DTS Virtual: x Virtual 3D surround sound. Audio Formats-File Format-WAV (PCM format only) / FLAC: up to 192kHz, ALAC: up to 96kHz, MP3 / WMA / MPEG-4 AAC: up to 48 kHz. Play music and podcasts through Spotify connect, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
- It is convenient to quickly switch to presets with clear sound, surround sound, TV, movie, etc. Can be controlled from an app on your phone. If you need to hear speech clearly, then it is solved with one click on the remote control. Attach to the wall. Turns on / off with the TV set, the sound level is adjusted from the TV remote control when connected via hdmi arc.
- I expected a deeper sound. Sometimes it does not turn on, when you turn on the TV and you have to turn it on separately from the remote control
- 1. Sound 2. LAN 3. Application 4. There are common codecs on board for comfortable viewing of "downloaded" (meaning, of course, purchased) films from trackers. Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II Due to the fact that this speaker has a LAN, I can listen to music bypassing the bluetooth connection by simply sending it over the network to the speaker from my phone or play music from a PC directly to the speaker and listen to music from the media server raised on my Asustore 5. HDMI 6. Includes optics hose 7. There is a convenient paper for hanging the speaker on the wall (as it looks like for me) 8. It is possible to connect the subwoofer separately 9. Built-in subwoofer (in my case, this is a plus, I will explain in the comments) 10. Greatly improves the sound of standard TV speakers
- These are not even cons, but nit-picking. 1. Connect this column with WiFi is another quest. But I spat on WiFi by connecting it via LAN. 2. There is no through cable channel for laying suitable wires (in my case) 3. Useless Alex. Developed if you read the reviews, then maybe you agree with anyway and instead of Alexa, drink Alice for the RU market, or at least SIRI 4. Built-in sub
- Excellent soundbar; I intend to soon purchase a second one.

- 1. I read the comments and honestly expected more from the sound. In fact, it turned out that the sound is slightly better than that built into the xiaomi mitv 5 TV. At a volume below average, it’s hard to notice the difference. Perhaps these are my high expectations from YAMAHA. I do not like. 2. HDMI ARC is buggy in conjunction with xiaomi mitv 5 again after being idle in the off state (2-3 hours). Moreover, on / off from the remote control does not help, you just have to turn off the YAMAHA from the outlet, wait a couple of seconds and turn it back on, after that, lo and behold, the ARC connection is established and you can control the volume from the TV remote control. And so every day! And if the sound can somehow be explained by my initially overestimated expectations, then these distortions of power in a squat while waiting for HDMI ARC to work, this is generally out of the way. 3. When I realized that HDMI ARC is not about this device, I decided to connect TV via Bluetooth, maybe at least that way I won’t have to turn the power supply every evening in a respectful bow before this miracle of technology. But here is a new surprise, via Bluetooth our soundbar is not seen by the TV, after a couple of restarts, turning it off and on, the device appeared in the list, but all connection attempts were not successful. The same from a phone, the same from a laptop, etc. Although I remember that when I connected the soundbar on the first day, I immediately checked the Bluetooth connection and there were no problems.
- Probably a good device for the money.
- I didn't like the sound quality. Probably my own expectations let me down that yamaha cannot make such a shameful sound. And the situation will not be corrected by an external subwoofer, because medium and high are deaf.
- sound quality, compactness
- wires on top, the stencil for the wall is not accurate.
- ease of use spotik support versatility
- Sound. Missing Yamaha MusicCast and AirPlay services
- Overall sound quality, standalone operation without an external audio source, voice assistant support (Amazon Alexa), Home Assistant integration, advanced networking capabilities (Bluetooth, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, dlna)
- At a "lying" arrangement strongly collects dust. Built-in subs after full-time comparison with the external still leave much to be desired. Inability to connect an external subwoofer via Wifi.
