I buy 4 boxes each. I can only get 4 from my regular retailer for the price Amazon is selling 20 for. I've been using them for about 3 years, a few hundred installs and not a single bug. I highly recommend.

I'm reconnecting my off-grid solar panels, they were relatively cheap. But they seem to be of very good quality. The conductor pins hold the crimp well. Good quality rings. The two halves fit perfectly. The clamps are ideal for standard 10ga PV cable. No measurable problems with the electrical connection. The end result is a set of custom length PV cables that work great!

Connectors are ok except the round end that slides over the cable is too small in diameter to grip with a standard MC4 wrench will. You can improvise with pliers, but it's time consuming, difficult in tight spots, and (most problematically) difficult to seal the cable tightly as required for outdoor applications. I think these connectors work better with an H4 key, but they're more expensive and harder to find than the MC4 (which you probably already have).

I make my own solar cables and often need these MC4 connectors. They fit great and ensure a solid connection. They're weather-resistant, snap tightly for a secure fit, and won't come loose. This is a complete set of 25 pairs of female and male connectors including metal core connectors for both. They crimp cleanly and provide a strong and durable connection. These are high quality MC4 connectors rated up to 30A DC and I highly recommend them. They get 5 stars from me.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and features considering how affordable they are compared to some others. They have some sort of "semi-locking" mechanism that prevents the nut from loosening very easily when the plug is subjected to stress, excessive movement, vibration, etc. Makes a "whooping" sound when tightened. But if for some reason you need to unscrew the nut, you can still unscrew it with no visible damage. I am very happy with this purchase.

I have a mix of MC4 connectors in my solar panel installation. One thing I noticed is that not all MC4 connectors match well with different brands. I've tried connecting these MC4 connectors to others and they seem to connect fine. The female pins are 36mm, so they are more likely to connect to different brands. Once I had the pins in the connector, I found that it was easier to unscrew the grip part if I pushed the rubber grommet into the connector as far as possible before assembly, unless the grip cap can come loose when you start stripping the jump threads .
