Great lighter.

Always perfect flashes. This is a high quality professional instrument. You will not be disappointed. The wiring harness that came with my mini split air conditioner had bad flares. I reworked them all with this tool. No leaks.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Some bugs

Broad highlights with mirror shine!

This is an essential tool when doing a mini split. They work with very high pressure, so only the best bell can withstand. This tool creates a beautiful broad highlight that is so smooth it looks like a mirror. Can't live without!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Can't remember

Works perfectly and easily

I bought this to flare copper lines for mini split units. It makes perfect flashes every time. Love the fact that the head is attached to a clip so it can't be separated and lost. Inserting the lines was very easy and the ratchet prevents over-tightening.

Pros
  • This is amazing

Make sure you don't have metric lines!

If you're a DIYer, remember these are SAE. Many hose sets that come with mini splitters can/will be metric. I bought this at the same time as the mini split but found I couldn't use it. And YJ doesn't do metrics. For metrics go to the Autozone and borrow the 27012 tool. Just tried this and after a few tries ended up with very clean flares. Simply put some cooling oil like Nylog Blue on the cone and make sure the tube is assembled properly. It's not the seller's fault I ordered the wrong thing…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • old

Expensive but good quality

Had to cut and flare the refrigerant lines on my new Mini AC Split unit using R410a refrigerant. The device works at relatively high pressure, so I had to make sure I was making good flares. I decided not to use my old cheap flare tool as it was a one time thing and I needed to get it right. But I didn't want to pay the air conditioner guy a lot of money either. I practiced on scraps of 1/4" and 3/8" copper tubing until I got pretty good at incorporating the required 1-1.5mm draw length. After…

  • Pleasant to use
