| Block time | About 64 seconds per block on average (white paper v1.05, written before the 2023 switch to the hybrid model). |
| Masternodes | Masternodes add network services; a masternode needs proof of ownership of 500,000,000 DIME. |

Security and audits
- Dimecoin added automatic checkpointing to protect the chain against hashing-related attacks.
- The 2.4.0.0 release notes say a full rebuild of the historical PoW/PoS chain without peers is an unresolved limitation.
Security incidents
No security incident is recorded in the sources checked on 1 November 2026 (the company’s own channels and incident databases): defillama.com/hacks, hacked.slowmist.io/search, rekt.news/leaderboard, github.com/dime-coin/dimecoin/releases, dimecoinnetwork.com
Risks and caveats
- 10% of block rewards go to a foundation that is not identified as a legal entity.
- The 2.4.0.0 notes say rebuilding the full chain from scratch without peers remains an unresolved limitation.
- Small network: the explorer showed 42 masternodes on 1 November 2026.
