Its not really soft, the materials kinda stiff but maybe after a wash or two. I have a weighted blanket that has a small whole so tiny beads would fall out so I bought the cover to go over so I can still use my blanket a little longer. This is the second bear I have of this series of bears. I love how cute they are and how they all have like their own personality. The bear sits on his own because he has beads on his bottom. The arms an legs are flimsy which allows you to use it to wave around with the arms. This is literally a toothpick bear. The blue bear is super soft like a felt blanket and the brown one is like your typical teddy bear that is not fur.
