My expectations were fairly low in terms of quality, which is why I wasn’t surprised it felt cheap. But I was hoping the look would make up for it. Ok so here is my thoughts on the product- use wide screws instead of the crappy wall hooks with daggers attachments to hang the glass to your wall because the hook they provided me with really damaged my wall and made a significant hole so just use screws it works just as well and looks way less tacky. These seem perfectly fine except for a total deal-killer: The weird, oily finish rubs off on your skin and anything else it touches, leaving a black mark that will ruin clothing and require hand-scrubbing with soap. I love Birkenstocks. They are my primary choice in footwear. My black leather pair needed to be replaced so I gave these a shot at about 25% the cost. Unfortunately, they are also, IMO, about 25% as good.The cork is hard and definitely going to break. The "leather" is cheap, flimsy, and so weak that it doesn't hold its shape. While this material is visually beautiful, its inter layer strength is so impressively bad it's unusable even in decorative applications.
