I bought this for a Halloween costume and general use after the fact for any occasion I may need to dress up. It's a nice design and I'm glad I bought it, but it is definitely not genuine silk. There's no tags on the item to indicate country of origin or material content, not that you can trust those 100% of the time either. I really like these but my only complaint is that I had to grease them all around the strap and buckle to stop the loud screeching noise they were making. I ended up having to grease the entire boot which actually made the color look richer. They feel heavy enough to not feel cheap and light enough that it doesn't hurt your feet. I got this for my niece who is 13 she loves doing crafts, but I thought this was much more for her age. I like that the canvas can be placed on display on her wall.
