Nice working platform but the user interface could be simpler

Pros
  • I think it is a fast platform. Also it works fast in the browser. It is also nice that you can choose between different themes. You can choose a dark theme when it's night and a regular theme when it's daytime
Cons
  • It looks a little bit difficult sometimes. Also the registration process is complicated. You need to make copies of your passport

Going from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro is a natural step for people while learning about crypto. Seems like everyone, including myself, find the next step, which is leaving Coinbase for exchanges offering higher volume, more variety in coin listings, or decentralized exchanges.

Pros
  • Deposit USD from bank into Coinbase Pro (formerly GDAX) and buy with zero Maker fee. Decent trading volume Dark UI
Cons
  • Limited tools within the chart, but this is pro? Coinbase honors the old school money rules, so expect long delays associated with "settlement time." Certain types of withdrawals/deposits will charge high USD fees familiar to Banks.

Gdax was the first platform i used in conjunction with Coinbase. Great intermediary to transfer Coinbase funds to GDAX and then to other exchanges with minimal fees. I look forward to using Coinbase Pro as this is replacing GDAX and has more advanced features

Pros
  • Simple to use. Accepts Fiat. US based - advantage for US based users
Cons
  • Few Coins. Few TA tools

Coinbase provides two trading venues, its Coinbase web portal dashboard for investors and GDAX, its more advanced web-based platform for traders. GDAX, which stands for Global Digital Asset Exchange, is a trading platform launched by the Coinbase in May of 2016. While some of you may know Coinbase for the ability to buy Bitcoin directly by Credit Card, GDAX is the other part of the company – the exchange that was created to accommodate not only Bitcoin trading but trading in alternative…

Pros
  • Traders choose Coinbase/GDAX for the reputation of its management, its approach to storing clients’ digital assets mostly in cold storage, and its other security measures to mitigate its own risk in handling clients’ funds, including FDIC insurance applicable to USD balances held by US residents at Coinbase in case of its insolvency. GDAX is very well secured exchange and undergoes regular IT security and financial audits. Plus, they keep keeps 98% of their users’ funds off the Internet in cold storage with encryptions and multisig keys. GDAX is actually run by the same company that owns Coinbase. It’s important to note that the company holds the New York BitLicense. As of the summer of 2017 only three companies have received the license, and this is due to the burdensome and slow regulatory procedure. Coinbase is one of those three companies. The exchange currently supports three FIAT currencies, namely GBP, EUR, and USD.
Cons
  • - commissions and fees are not the broker's strong point. - trading platform not so sofisticate as othrer's competitors; - customer support could be way better (the support can be a bit “shallow” sometimes and only partially resolve the problem. This can result in waiting for another 48 hours to completely resolve the problem); - few altcoins available; - a part of Coinbase, which is known for lack of privacy.

https://www.gdax.com/ Market entry to better trade terms for traders. Not really the place for HODLers, as the sister company Coinbase is. GDAX is a safe place to conduct transactions, and they don't accept Tether.

Pros
  • GDAX is the more sophisticated side of market entry point Coinbase. More Americans have gotten into this space via Coinbase than any other source*. The exchange here taught me my first lessons about crypto candle charts. By making me google what I was looking at. They made me a smarter consumer, but only because I exist when the internet does. *Probably, I don't know, but it sounds reasonable. Coinbase, right?
Cons
  • Comparably limited range of products available for exchange, but in many ways, not accepting Tether here makes this one of the best possible places to do an exchange.
