Full disclosure - I've been investigating XDN for a couple of months already. I have some XDN, but not enough to buy my mother some hand soap yet. 
Financially biased opinions aside, I've long thought this project offered a wealth of use cases and being it was not an ICO pump and dump driven entity, it shows the rest of the sphere how crypto can and should be.

Pros

Digital Note ( XDN) is designed for instant, secure, untraceable messages being sent. The product can be mined in one of several methods and uses CPU, while also remaining ASIC resistant. Addressing the issue of mining centralization shows intelligent forward looking leadership.

Cons

When you make a deposit of your XDN you get interest paid on it to you. The interest is described as between 0.4% and 1.094%. This will cause you to have more money, which as we all know thanks to Biggie Smalls, means you will have more problems. Wait. #DonGlover Good problems? With dozens of national banks offering bonds with negative yields (not to mention the additional dozens offering bond yields below 1%, this is a wildly different approach to the investment side.
