dogecoin was generated in last day of 2013, DOGE has dedicated blockchain and based on my personal experience it have high speed network for make transations. everytime when i transfered my dogecoins to another address, its done after a few minutes. actually dogecoin is my favorite coin cause it have very low fees. even when i want transfer my coins from most exchanges, they make a withdrawal by doge with a very small comission.
dogecoin is mineable and using Scrypt algorithm. negative point of dogecoin as my opinion its really not a good coin for investing cause price is really unstable.
