
In a world where we have so many slow cookers cooking our food to death, this one struggles with others not to cook anything. Pleasant look made of brushed stainless steel, spacious pan, durable carrying handles, precise setting of time and temperature. Also a unique 'simmer' setting that is slightly lower than 'low'. Not bad. Here's the part where I don't recommend it: 1) I had the chef work overnight and completely shut it down for no apparent reason. Cold food in the morning doesn't make me happy. 2) My potatoes and beans were still raw after 8 hours because this cooker only gets to 88C after 5 hours on HIGH. It never comes close to boiling. This is contrary to what the Cuisinart manual says, which yes I read: High = 212 F (100 °C), Low = 200 F (93 °C), Simmer = 185 F (85 °C), Keep warm = 165°C. F (74C) See the drawing I've attached where I carefully measured how fast it could bring 5 liters of water to temperature every 10 minutes. After 5 hours it leveled off and stayed there. If the type of food you're cooking is fine for that temperature, it might work, but no more. In terms of power consumption, at high power it consumes 288W until it reaches 88°C, then it runs at 3.5W and turns on the heating. between on/off to maintain temperature. It also seems sucks that 3.5 watts don't care if it's cooking something - just plugged into the mains. I had really high hopes for this but if it doesn't cook properly it's useless to me and I sent it back. I'm still looking for the perfect multi cooker.
