We needed something to keep our drinks handy so we didn't have to put them on the carpet or reach for the coffee table while lying down It's perfect. This cup holder is durable and easily slides in and out between seats. Inserting it with legs between the seats makes it more stable, but we can also work well using the top as a cup holder. It has a soft material that hugs cups, so it works well with both large and small containers. We mainly use mugs with lids as we have 2 small dogs who love to frolic on the couch. Definitely recommend.
