First- let me address these lights "not working" the 1st time I tried. You have to tighten these bulbs in tighter than I was comfortable with. The bulbs simply needed to be tightened and they worked perfectly. It took my friend's help and a cloth in my hand because I was afraid I would break them. The lightbulbs are incandescent (sp?) and not LED. The dimmer I purchased would not work with these lights. I could not find a dimmer for anything other than LED bulbs. The quality of the cord and the glass bulbs were high and they give you several replacements. Thankgoodness. Gravity and Gravel are not friends when these when hit the ground and of course they shattered. I broke 2 and have more replacements to spare. I bought 4 strands and they still worked all strung together over 50 feet from the house on a medium duty extension cord. They were nice for our wedding tent. We used 4 strands of 48' lights for a 30' x 40' tent and still had enough lighting. (We used a "Z" pattern, not simply around the perimeter)
