I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the materials and workmanship of this organizer. The term "wood look" in the product description led me to assume that it was some kind of chipboard covered with veneer or even contact paper. But no, it's solid wood with well-crafted joints at every corner. The hinges are hidden and the top is held open by a V-shaped wedge between the box and the lid. This box is well designed and well constructed. I was also hesitant when I saw the phrase "assemble in seconds" in the product description. Obviously, this simply means you can reorganize interior layouts quickly and easily. I had nothing to collect. Luckily, I overcame both hesitations and grabbed one of those storage boxes. The finish is a hard clear coat. I may have preferred unfinished wood, but only so I could paint it to match the rest of the wood in my office. But then I never get the same smooth surface when painting.
