My 5 series on/off switch broke after a few years so I switched to this unit. This is by far the easiest shave I've ever had. It doesn't look like you're doing much. My Series 5, which has no floating heads, just a swipe, felt like working your way through your hair. The compression springs definitely make a difference here. Also, with floating heads, it's now much easier to shave the entire chin area. Faster vibration conditions hair like a champ. A few notes though: 1) I can shave smoother on my 5, a hair's breadth (ha!). This is because at 5 you have to press a little harder on the screen and that puts more pressure on the skin. It's not much closer, but it's closer. And I should make it clear that it only appears identical when you feel your face against the fibers, with the fibers. Also, at 9 p.m. my Series 5 shave won't be as blunt as it is now. 2) The sieve head is now fully integrated into one blade + sieve, unlike 5. This makes the cleaning a bit more of a hassle as you have to run it. under water instead of with a brush if you want to remove the main hair from the shaver so that it does not clog the suction tube at the cleaning station. 3) This is a complaint to all Brauns: at the cleaning station it should be possible to clean, charge and clean + charge separately. Battery charging is a real concern as I enjoy keeping my head clean with daily cleaning cycles. I suspect it will. The kit should include a cleaning brush. Luckily I have a wire straw brush that does this, but it should be included. Overall, this is the best razor I've had, but if you're obsessed with getting the closest shave possible, the Series 5 is better for you in that regard.
