I love using this lamp on my desk for paperwork every evening. The clamp is good and attaches to my 2 3/4" thick table. Just note that the flexible part of the lamp is quite strong so the clamp tends to slide on or off the table as the angle changes The only real issue I have with this lamp is a pretty big design flaw in my opinion, but I'll only give it one star for that, the downside is the location of the ventilation holes for light. They are on the bottom of the lantern and if you know anything about heat you know that it rises which means the heat can't get out very well. I put the light in the first night on the highest setting for an hour and a half and it gets HOT almost too hot to touch and if you know anything about electronics the number one cause of failure is almost always heat . Still, it's an amazing light at a great price. No problems I can't live with.
