Review on 💙 Rit Dye 8 oz Navy Blue Fabric Dye - 8 Fluid Ounces by Carrie Spencer

I used it to dye something old uses 100% cotton rugs. They were a very light green color. I wasn't sure if I could do this in my HE washing machine. I have jacuzzi 2 years old. It has a high water level setting which is a joke because the water still doesn't cover the clothes. I first wet 2 carpets in a rinse and spin cycle. I filled the washing machine on the high water setting. When it started to bother me I stopped the washing machine with the pause button and then filled the tub with hot water from the leather faucet until the carpets were covered and then another bucket with 2 bottles of paint and mixed salt. I mixed the rugs and dye bath with my hands, making sure the color was evenly distributed throughout the rugs. I let them soak and to my horror I can hear the machine draining water even though it was still stopped and the lid was open. I had to pull the plug to stop the car. I guess I should have done that when I started adding extra hot water. live and learn I managed to save some dye and hand agitate the mats for about 5 minutes. Overall I think they were in the bath for a total of 15-20 minutes. Not as long as they should have. I plugged the machine back in and let it do its job. Then I rinsed and wrung out the carpets again before drying. They came out pretty well and darker than I expected. The color is a little more purple than I wanted. I was hoping for an indigo color but it still suits my navy blue bathroom and only cost me 2 bottles of paint. The rugs were approximately 30 inches by 40 inches and 42 inches by 50 inches.
