Now something completely different. Minimalist and elegant timekeeping, reduced to the essentials. The earliest mechanical watches were single hands, and we can now wear their modern medieval equivalent on the wrist. No complications, no superimposed markings, no fluorescent tubes, no self-winding, no embellishments; just a plain clear colored dial with clear markings every 5 minutes, excellent contrast and a single pointer to show the way. Most of us simply need to be able to tell the time to within two or three minutes in most cases. It will do this and allow us to be on time for meetings. As I got used to reading it, I found that I could quickly tell the time to within 3 minutes, and if I looked a little longer and more closely, I could tell the time to within 1 minute. That's almost always enough. While inexpensive and simple, the watch doesn't feel cheap. simply stylish and minimalist. Will this be my only watch? or even my master clock? no But they're an interesting contrast to the typical everyday watch and can be a good conversation starter. I've been interested in the simplicity of a one-hand watch for a while, but didn't want to spend Meistersinger money to satisfy my curiosity. The Ray is an inexpensive alternative that I don't feel bad about not wearing every day. I like it and it works well so far.
