Works at least right away
Let's see. I've looked through many of these for hooking up a second monitor to my 2017-18 iMac. This requires an HDMI-to-USB-C connection (Apple calls this Thunderbolt 3). Looks good quality, dare I say an order of magnitude Apple quality but MUCH LESS. Most other brands I looked at had WAY more reviews but lots of negative ones - stumbled upon this one by accident and it only had a few reviews but mostly positive ones. Will update when issues arise, but worked straight away by connecting a Samsung monitor/tv via HDMI cable. Without adjustment etc. just worked.
