Advantages: This inverter corresponds exactly to the documentation. No "truth claim" in this case. The design is really beautiful, durable and well built. The DC connections are so far apart and well insulated that it is difficult to short them out. The documentation provided is well written in English and covers pretty much everything you need to know (including recommended fuse size and type, cable lengths, etc.). I have tested this inverter from time to time and last night I ran a full size freezer from my camper (solar) and a 12ga power strip all night. During testing, the fan turned on but never got hotter than slightly. Cons: As far as I can tell, the inverter draws about 0.5 amps when idle. It's not that bad, but for an application like a freezer it's wasteful, as freezers run with the compressor off for quite a long time. That's 12 amp hours, or 144 watt hours of overhead that you may need to account for. Other: I'm thinking of hacking a remote control (sold separately) to turn the unit on and off with a solenoid triggered by the freezer thermostat.
