Everything is fine. I also bought a Mary Jane and I like it much better. They fit pretty high on the top of my foot - they don't fit like flats, more like cheap socks sold to be worn with flats that are too big to see an inch, or they protrude with it flat shoes out. on the. I had high expectations for ballet flats. They're still comfortable, durable, and have great traction, so I'll keep them to myself. I recommend Mary Janes instead, but only because of the worn look. In terms of functionality, I'm size 7 1/2 with flat feet, L fits great, not too tight and not too loose, but just right. The smell was barely noticeable to me but they are neoprene so expect smell. I have no complaints other than that I was expecting them to look a little different but they are still a nice lightweight slipper that gives support and still feels barefoot.
