Really cool gift. The colors are very bright. That's great. It's also larger and better made than I expected, which is a big plus. Got 2 sets for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he can light up all 12 (6 in a box of 12 of 2 sets) regular units with just one of the base units plugged in. It takes a little patience and plug. into the wall to allow children over 8-9 years old to play unsupervised. But my 20 year old said he wouldn't mind having a small night light/lamp set. Heck, I'm 40 and I grew up with Tetris and I love it too.
