Review on Jackson Ultima SoftSkate Figure Skates: Premium Womens/Girls Ice Skates by Chris Hazzard

Great skates for beginners. They have excellent ankle support and are generally sturdy. The real problem with the lacing hook. Flimsy isn't the right word to describe this metal hook. If a seven-year-old girl can break the hook by tightening the laces, the product is defective. I've read other complaints about the eyelet system but overall these skates got high marks so I took a chance. Luckily the hook in the return window broke so I got a replacement. They were used for two skating lessons before the hook broke. Strangely I bought the same skateboard with a different padding (a different granddaughter) and the hooks on this skateboard are super strong. I would steer clear of the sherpa lined skates and order one of these with a colored lining. The purple lined skates definitely had excellent lacing. Maybe it was an accident or one of the skates was older, but the difference is clear.
