I really like this microphone arm. It's lightweight, easy to adjust, and moves silently. It's hard to find an arrow as well made as this one. No spring mount is used, the main source of tension comes from a braided steel wire that runs throughout the boom and across each pivot. And you adjust each joint with as much tension as you want. If you like moving it up and down that's fine, if you prefer the sweet spot and don't want to lose it that's fine too! The only downside is the way it works, basically the mic has to fall down from above. I was able to find a sweet spot with the mic pointing up, but it's very low over the table. But most of the time this won't bother you much because you don't really need the mic right in front of your face, you can always adjust the mic gain depending on the distance, and if you're worried about increasing the gain to compensate for the distance and record the background noise. Just use the squelch! Another great feature is the ability to hide the mic cable in the duct with built-in clips. I believe this mic comes with an adapter for different mic thread sizes. Microphones and spring loaded ones make me sick. This one is more aesthetic and easy to use and adjust.
