This processor is heavyweight and is best suited for multi-threaded applications. In all tests, it is closer to i7. I don’t know what kind of tests they do in laboratories, but in all my tests it’s closest to i7, i5 is almost nowhere near, except for some low-threaded tests. My final verdict is this (you can’t blame for some shortcomings, they are all too different and even designed for different consumers with a wallet) You have to be a performance fan, not a brand. Excellent processor, you can safely buy. And perhaps the last thing, when buying a top-end processor, it is stupid to demand high performance from it on cheap motherboards with poor memory and bad power supplies, coolers, and so on. The processor environment must be appropriate for its performance and then everything will be fine.
