EzyShade to replace traditional foldable windshield sunshade

Just received my EzyShade to replace my cheap foldable sunshade. I have a 206 Ford Edge Pro. The two-piece design fits together perfectly. I'm used to the twist and fold design so opening and closing is not a problem. When folded it is very compact compared to my old folding unit. Cons While it has better coverage than my folding unit, EzyShade doesn't work as well to keep the dashboard and interior from getting hot. I'm an engineer with access to gauges. When I maintained and then repeated the same settings for two full cycles of alternating 30 minutes with my folding screen and then EzyShade, my interior was 6-8 degrees hotter with EzyShade and my dashboard 10-12 degrees hotter. I'm not sure if this is unique to EzyShade or EzyShade's design. Most folding structures have a cardboard or foam backing that supports the traditional highly reflective aluminum film. I find the pleated fabric design makes using a solid aluminum foil difficult due to its porous weave and the fact that you can fold and roll the surface into small packets. The eyeshadows appear to have been sprayed onto a silver-grey finish rather than aluminum foil. The ambient temperature during this test was 84-86 degrees and the car was in direct sunlight. The interior of the car was 95 to 98 degrees and the dashboard 104 to 114 depending on which screen was tested. If anyone has a light meter and can compare the reflection between two different styles, that would be an interesting test.
