Great for everything but scorpions

Well, for starters, it has a very bright fluorescence with no visible incident light so you can actually see the fluorescence. While this allows it to work great for spotting urine or counterfeit money etc, it is not as effective at hunting scorpions as other higher 395nm lights I have used (this is literally the only purpose the I bought it). The reason is simple, it works so well it makes all sorts of things on the ground outside fluoresce like bird droppings, wild cat urine, flowers fallen from trees, palm bark (where scorpions like to hide) and all sorts of other substances that I know of never knew they could fluoresce (and in fact do NOT fluoresce at 395nm). So while scorpions fluoresce a bit brighter than 395nm (which can make for some really good photos once you've found them), everything else that doesn't fluoresce at 395nm glows like crazy - hence scorpions blending into the environment. other fluorescent objects. I have found that hunting scorpions is MUCH easier with standard 395nm UV light due to the relatively increased contrast between the (albeit slightly less fluorescent) scorpions and the (not at all fluorescent) background of everything else. In general, I really wanted to like this light. It's well made, has USB-C charging, does most of what it says it does, but at $40 I can't justify using it for anything else when it's advertised as the main function I use it for wanted, completely failed (but then again, just because it causes such crazy fluorescence). So I have to rate it 3 stars as it's advertised as great for Scorpios, although in my opinion it definitely isn't.
