I have a MAC and have been using a Zoom 3095 dial-up modem for 6 years. This is by far the best external USB dial-up modem and fax machine I have ever owned. It works not only on the latest i7 quad-core Macs, but also on older Mac Power PCs and all Macs in between. Over the years I have used it with various Mac Power Pc and Intel laptops running Tiger OS, OS Leopard, OS Snow Leopard, OS Lion and OS. mountain lion. It's easy to PLUG AND PLAY them all! I use it easily between my old 17 inch laptop and my new 2011 Macbook Air. Each of them recognizes it immediately and is ready to go. I use it every day to connect to the internet and a few days to fax documents from MS Office. 2008 no problem. Plug it directly into your Mac rather than a USB hub so it can draw enough power. Most USB modems support either 32-bit operating systems like Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard or 64-bit operating systems like Lion and Mountain Lion, but the Zoom 3095 is the best USB modem as it supports both 23-bit and also works fine with 23-bit 64-bit Macs Of course it also works on Windows and Linux, but I haven't tried it because I only use Macs.
