How to install an M2 board if the instructions confuse you.

Mine arrived and works. However, the documentation was pretty terrible when it came to installation instructions. You get a package of various screws, but the documentation seems to indicate there must be one more component - mounting posts. In fact, it's bolted to the board. Confusingly, there are also fixed mount points at the end of each slot. DO NOT TRY TO FORCE THE FINAL STANDARDS like some guy probably tried to do in January 2019 and then complain about the poor quality of the material coming from China. Poor documentation yes, but the product itself is of pretty decent quality. This guy also probably misplaced the bracket which is why the screw keeps falling off like it did in the beginning until I read some helpful Q&A on how to fit your M2's half circle into the notch of the mounting post. Most SSDs are 2280 size, so you will need the replacement mounting stands that come with the board. You need to place them in the semi-circle of your M2 board and then carefully place them in the hole at your position (e.g. 2280). After that, the screw is on the underside of the circuit board. The end position of M2 must be straight and parallel. See photos. The manufacturer should only provide the photos I took of it. The instructions would be much clearer. Maybe they should give me a fee as payment for their production! :-) Anyway, as for the board itself, it works fine and I'm glad my machine is now running on an NVME SSD. 4 stars because of unclear instructions (would be a lot easier if they just took some photos like Ikea!).

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • No
