I have this to hang a mirror that weighs about 20 pounds. My mirror was about 21 inches wide so it didn't fit at least 2 studs in my wall. This French clip system has allowed me to attach the mirror to at least 2 posts so I don't have to worry about it falling off my wall. Each hole is about 1 inch apart which works great. I used construction glue to attach a piece of wood to the back of the mirror and then screwed the french plank to the wood. Overall it feels very sturdy and expect it to last.
