Well you get what you paid for: one is broken and they are unstable when used horizontally
Unstable when used horizontally. One of the 12 was defective - a scratch/fault on the plastic surface. They're made of very thin plastic, but they're good enough - except the scale base is too short and when trying to use them horizontally (on a smooth, flat table) they're unstable and difficult or impossible to lower without falling off. I think a few mm more would have done the trick. Very bad. FYI: I haven't had any problems with them upright.
