I live in Portland, Oregon where there is a lot of humidity in the air. I hung a paper-thin printer calendar on the kitchen wall and after a few days it curled up, if that gives you any idea how moisture hangs. This humidifier is great because it is small so it doesn't take up much space, easy to move around and easy to store away when you don't want to use it. In winter, on very humid days, I left this on the counter overnight and woke up in a fresher place. The bottom drawer fills with water (pulled from the air) and is easy to pull out and drain. I never got to the point where the drawer was completely full of water, but the product says it has an auto shut off when it gets to that point.
