Clear view, good for diving and snorkeling

I was really surprised at how fog-free they are compared to my friend. After the first few uses I had to use surfactants like saliva or anti-fog sprays to keep it from fogging up. This is a matter of course for almost all masks. It doesn't take long initially to prevent fogging and it stays clean throughout my rides. The mask seals my face well without causing any discomfort. It was soft and I could tell when it wasn't put on properly. Compared to my friend's mask, I sometimes couldn't tell if there was a crease in the silicone apron on his mask and it wasn't closing completely. With mine I could feel if there was a false seal and line up the skirt to create it. As for the dry pipe (there are semi-dry and traditional types), it was easy to learn. The hump in the air intake really helped keep at least a few bites of seawater from getting into my lungs. The snap-on locking clip makes it easy to attach and detach the mask strap. My friend's pipe clamp came in two pieces. He lost it the first time he used it. Two things I didn't like about this pipe: - The mouthpiece irritated a small part of my gums after prolonged use. It might just be me as everyone has a different jaw shape. - The flexible part of the hose should be more flexible. My friend's pipe had an amazingly flexible part that allowed it to bend without much resistance. This is important as the tubing needs to bend up without jerking the mouthpiece. This added flexibility may have alleviated the irritation of the mouthpiece. Those two things aside, this is a solid snorkel with a great mask that I'll be using for a while.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
