Review on HP 840 G2 Touchscreen Professional by Donald Phillips

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good system, easy to set up and use

Title and description says 16g RAM but spec says 8g. Title says up to 2.7GHz but spec says 2.2GHz. I had doubts about the accuracy of the details or characteristics of the description. Upon receipt I'm happy to report that it does indeed have 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, a discontinued but fast i5-5300U 2.3GHz 2-core 4-thread processor and AC/B/G /N Wifi-5 fully supported. The processor was released in early 2015, early models of this computer came with Win7 or Win8, later with Win10. It also has a bonus - a fingerprint scanner - for easier access. The fingerprint is used locally and is tied to a local user (you do NOT need to sign in with a Microsoft account if you don't want to, but you do need to take care when signing in for the first time to create a local account or you won't be able to create one This is perfect for any power user, student or new user as you don't have extra stuff taking up space for things you don't need or use or try to use them trying to remove things and clearing up the space. The box is fully stocked with 16GB of DDR3 memory, can support up to 3 monitors. Built-in support for VGA or Display Port, easy-to-find adapters to support HDMI devices. All 4 USB ports - USB3 which was a pleasant surprise judging by the description Graphics card or GPU so I wouldn't use it for serious gaming or intensive video applications e recommend. I have found that many system updates are required (HP) including BIOS, apparently mine was sold in September 2015.

Pros
  • Traditional laptops
Cons
  • Makes me angry
