They arrived in a sealed zipped bag similar to many Chinese made products. The leather case is larger than I expected. It's a fairly dusty pink color with a slight chemical odor that dissipates when aired. The brushes are in the bag and each in an individual plastic sleeve. Unlike other kits I've received in the past, the brushes fit easily in a bag without the bristles breaking. This is a really nice set and a pleasure to use. The handles are long and thin. The brushes are light and evenly balanced, you don't feel like the brush or the handle is heavier than the other end. The metal strip is fairly solid, although not perfectly sealed. During use, you need to ensure that cosmetics or water do not accumulate in the seam. The attachments themselves are not perfect, there was a lot of loose hair and the ends were trimmed unevenly, some sticking out long. They were easy to trim to the right length and after the first wash the brushes stopped coming loose.
