Review on Ignition Distributor Kit with Solid Brass Terminals, Cap, and Rotor Set by Rick Marie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Use genuine

Working installed on my 98 k1500 with 5.7 Vortec engine. I didn't have any screws for either the lid or the rotor, which is perfectly normal. I disconnected the ground terminal on the battery with an 8mm wrench. Marked my 8 connector wires before removing, tugging on each wire while holding the splitter to avoid putting too much stress on the splitter, carefully removed the 2 T20 screws for the cover with the T20 socket and extension and a small 1 /4 ratchet. To avoid dropping the bolts as finding them in the engine would be a nightmare as they are so small I used a magnet to pull them out once they were loose. I marked the rotor before removing it. To put the new one on top of the same I removed the 2 t15 bolts to prevent the rotor from twisting when loosening the bolts and put everything back in with enough torque to tighten the bolts snugly they pull out very easily . Connect the battery clamp, start the engine and you're done. I chose to remove the inlet piece behind the firewall labeled Vortec for easier access, but it's not really necessary, there's just a screw on the driver's side and a clip holding it in place.

Pros
