Review on Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5050 Black Keyboard and Mouse (PP4-00001) by Matthew Wheeler

Still the best keyboard (bang for the buck). I review once every few years so they don't last forever (I can type a lot but I don't overuse it) but I keep coming back for more. The mouse is pretty bad although others here love the mouse so it's all preference. If you upgrade from a 3000 to a 3050, the 3050 adds hardware encryption so no one can see what you're printing wirelessly. Additionally, some buttons (e.g. volume) are in a slightly different location. The 3050's buttons also feel better. Tiny difference, but better.
