There is no description of what each of them can do. The manual says if any of the buttons on the remote don't work, don't worry - they shouldn't. (?) The player itself is well made. I mention the manual because the picture quality was poor at the time it was received. The instructions say nothing about how to change the image quality. I was willing to return the player because the picture quality was better on my old 10 inch portable player. However, there is a way out. Clicking the Settings button takes you to the General page, which isn't much to use. After experimenting with different buttons, I found that the forward and back buttons move to different pages. I finally made it to the Video Quality page. There I found that all screen controls are set to minimum (00). By increasing the brightness to 04, contrast to 03, and saturation to 01, I now have a display that looks pretty good. Despite the almost total lack of support for this product, it seems good. The sound quality depends on what you need. what to expect from two small 3" (?) speakers. We usually use a set of compact external computer speakers plugged into the headphone jack. If it had a decent guide I would give it 5 stars. Message to seller: Do your buyers a huge favor and set your video controls to medium range or something other than the bare minimum I suppose they should have been set way above the minimum One final comment Shipping packaging is top notch The player is in amazing condition Bubble bag included which I keep to protect the player when traveling When closed, the platter measures 15" wide, 10¼" deep and 1½" high.
