I’ve been seeing this kind of desk-mounted extension cord pop up all over the place lately, so I had to try one out for myself. I’m blown away by how much I’ve already used it. Whenever I need to charge something, now I don’t have to crawl under my desk and make a Sophie’s choice about which device gets unplugged to accommodate for whatever thing I happen to be charging that day. Now, I have the option to plug things in temporarily on my desktop, whether they have a traditional plug, a USB plug, or *gasp* a USB-C plug! I love that we’re finally seeing more USB-C compatibility in extension cords and power strips. Took them long enough!The clamping mechanism works like a charm and holds onto the tabletop perfectly. I have no worries about it slipping or falling off. The angle that this item mounts at is also quite nice. It’s not quite 45 degrees, probably 20 degrees or so. But that little tilt upwards makes all the difference when it comes time to plug something in. A nice touch!Finally, the cable is wrapped in fabric, which is always a sign of a high-end product. No more cheap plastic cables that break and fray with use. This is a wonderfully designed cable with a flat plug! I can’t recommend this enough.
