This device works as intended and is quite simple. I've used it to install my iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 4s and iPhone 3g with no problems. The inner surface is covered with soft rubber. However, the inside of the clips is lined with plain plastic that isn't soft. Because of this, I would recommend storing your device in some sort of case. The grip on the clamps is also pretty solid, and the case takes away the worry of "bending" a thinner device. All of the phones I mentioned earlier had a case when I used them with this holder. On the iPhone 6 Plus, the clamps were close to the maximum opening limit when the phone was plugged in. But even then, I was still able to keep my iPhone 6 Plus in a heavier case with no mounting issues. Everything works fine when used with the Xshot Selfie Stick. There are actually two holes in your choice of mount to attach the Xshot selfie stick - one on the back and one on the side. You can turn your phone in any direction - face to face or face away - and everything in between. The grip is strong enough that I was sure my large iPhone 6 Plus wouldn't fall out even swinging the Xshot stick. The only thing that worries me is that I wish it used a screw clamp instead of the tension clamp it has. On larger phones like the 6 Plus, installation can be tricky due to the force of the clamp. Even when you're on the go, it can be a little tiresome to stop to cut your phone if you have to do it multiple times.
