Not as good as it used to be

I bought Ablave Window Film Single Sided Mirror Effect Film Privacy Static Non-Stick Decorative Heat Control (35.4in x 13.1ft Silver) Window Tint after using Gila Privacy Mirror DIY Residential Adhesive Had used Window Film Thermal Control Glare Control tinted 3ft x 15ft (36" x 180") for several years. We have two windows that I tint every spring and then untint every fall. I bought a new roll of Gila brand in April as I have done for a number of years in the past but for the first time I have had great difficulty applying it and could not do it without it buckling and leaving imperfections, which I don't know if there are any. They changed their formula or source but I was very disappointed because I've always had good luck with it, but after applying the new Gila to both windows I took it off and threw it it away. The first thing that struck me about Ablave was its weight, it is very significant comparison q with the film Gila. It was easy to apply, easy to trim and I am very happy with how easy it is to apply. However, and perhaps because of its thickness, it does not have a clear hue. There is some texture in the hue that affects the clarity of viewing. Side by side with Gila, which I applied to another window three years ago, it really brings out some of the wash of the Ablave tint. So in my personal experience the Gila Privacy Mirror film isn't as good as it used to be because while it can be great when used correctly, it's not as easy to apply as it used to be. past.
