. That can certainly save a lot of time. I've had the 6" version for years and recently got the 12" model. Minor changes have been made to the manufacturing process. The lower one in the picture, the old 6 inch version, has all the markings clearly engraved. The 12" looks embossed or stamped which makes the lines a bit thicker. Both work great for drawing lines exactly where you want them, which is obviously their purpose. I used them with a pointed wand for drawing from Lines on aluminum and used to draw on wood with a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. It's much faster (and more accurate) than drawing some serifs with a tape measure and then connecting them with a line. The T-lines are made of 10 mil thick stainless steel. By unscrewing the handles you can remove the T-ruler from the base and use it as a stand-alone measuring ruler. The thinness of the plate largely eliminates parallax error. The red aluminum profile has a rear lip against which a stainless steel plate rests , to ensure it stays square when reattached My only suggestion (for Incra) is that the red box should be a few inches longer than the 1 2 inch version. When drawing the line you have to be careful not to pull the ruler out of the square with the edge of the board. This was never a problem with the 6-inch version. This is a 12-inch, but it's still a five-star machine. Don't overuse it and it should last practically forever.
