I had the exact same star that broke last year. I ordered this because it looked close in the picture but it also looked darker so wasn't sure I would like it. I'm so glad I did as it's the same star I was planning to replace! First, it is a crystal clear star. It's not dark at all like in the picture. The "stand" is actually dark green to match the wood. It comes with a strong clip to attach in the center of the tree and then there is a two piece extension to raise the star. This is by far the best design I've seen in a star (this is how my broken star was made). The best thing about this interchangeable version is that the cord is much longer. I'll actually go down the tree to the extension (I have a 7 1/2 foot tree). The cord on my old star was only 2 feet long, and then I had to run an extension down the middle of the tree. If you doubt this topper, by all means take it. You will not be disappointed.
