Almost Good!: Kitchen & Bath Supplies

I hooked this up to an existing 50gpd Block 5 and wanted to improve it a bit. I replaced my existing reverse osmosis membrane and housing with these and installed all the new filters while I was at it. Here are my results. My system is fine because water is flowing through the system. 1 micron sediment filter. 5 micron carbon block. The fittings that come with the kit are useless and rubbish, they leak even with a very large amount of electrical tape. I think the threads are too small and they felt very sloppy to screw into the case. Get new fittings, I used Shark fittings, they fit well.2. There is no check valve provided which is on the normal reverse osmosis membrane body which contains the fittings. The check valve is located on one of the reverse osmosis water outlet fittings.3. At 90 psi (all 10" pre-filters) with 1 micron sediment and two 0.5 micron carbon blocks in front of the membrane, I'm getting 155 gallons per day, which isn't quite as advertised. When I took it to 100 PSI, I got I have 181GPD.4. They come with two 1/4" 90 degree push-in fittings and one 3/8" straight push-in fitting. I have 1/4" from my filters so I had to swap a 3/8" to 1 /4" mount adapter to make it work. Per.1. Connected TDS meter. Entrance 190-198, exit 8-12. So very happy about it.2. The case looks high quality and reliable.3. Once you install new plumbing, the leaks go away. I have used Shark Bite brand fittings, they never fail. Affordable RO 50GPD unit that delivers a consistent 0 TDS even after several thousand gallons. I would not recommend this for reef aquariums. For drinking water, freshwater aquariums or just a quick cheap reverse osmosis this is a great deal.
